Bear hunt season starts Aug 15th and runs through Oct 31st. All our stands are elevated and baited 3 weeks prior to season. Upon arrival, hunters are then responsible to bait their stands with bait supplied by the Lodge. The majority of stands are accessible only by water. Other stands are accessible by truck or 4-wheeler. Hunters need to supply their own 4-wheeler. You may also choose to bring a rifle, bow or crossbow. Yardage to bait piles vary but most bow stands are a maximum of 20 yards. If bringing firearms into Canada you declare them at the border. Rates for 2010 season start at $1200.00 (us funds) Included is One week of hunting, a fully furnished Log cabin with heat, electricity, water, and use of the sauna and hot tub.Rates for outpost hunts are $1000. Hunters are responsible for purchasing their black bear licence before arrival. Licences can be purchased at the MNR Office or Young's General Store, both in Wawa. The fee for 2010 is $198.25 (cn funds). A previous hunting licence is required for you to be issued an Ontario hunting licence.
